Stuff

I noticed my hamper this morning, it was more than full. Just my clothes, Troy had his own basket, he has shop dirt on his. Anyway. I realized I didn’t do my laundry last weekend and still have clothes to wear.
I am at work 5 days a week and do not wear a uniform or scrubs. Office attire for the most part except maybe truck day.
I have a closet full of clothes.
Now, some are older than some of you reading this. I keep them for sentimental reasons, a concert tee, senior shirt.
Some I have out grown and think I will fit back into again. Some that are way too big.
Yet every morning I stand in my closet frustrated because I have nothing to wear. Can someone explain that to me?
When I finally find something I cant decide which black shoes to wear.
You read that right. I probably have 6 pairs. Just black.
None of which are new.
I haven’t clothes shopped in a while.
I look around my house sometimes at what we have accumulated over the years. Books, movies.
Things.
Just things.
Some dusted covered now and I shake my head.
All I can think is, this stuff used to be money.
I guess with age and maturity you start looking at things differently. I don’t need anymore stuff.
I need relationships.
Quiet time
Conversations
Prayers
And yes, coffee
Seriously
Don’t wait til late in life to reevaluate what you truly need. Get a head start now and you will feel the happiness.
Stop surrounding yourself with too much stuff. You don’t have to prove to anyone you are a success. You already know that.
Start surrounding yourself with what’s important.
Laughter
Family
Friends
Calm
And peace
Oh and Big Love
Some people will search for and buy happiness.
Some of us will create it.
Get to creating!
Love big
