Oct 20, 2019 my sitcom

Facebook has helped me get back and keep in touch with so many friends and family.
I get to enjoy others vacations, adventures and watch them grow and mature.

One of my favorite options on Facebook is the memories.
I love looking back and seeing my own adventures and what I was doing today so many years ago.
There have been times that it’s the same thing years later.
Eating dinner at the same restaurant, watching the same movie or the next series to it.
I’ve been seen wearing the same shirt.
Man I need a new wardrobe. Lol

I’ll see pictures of my grandbabies so small. The first day of school is a favorite. I love seeing those.
An electronic journal and photo album of my life.
They say when you die, your life flashes before you. I’m sure those will be the moments I did not share with people. I can wait to see those.

But each morning I enjoy scrolling back through my years on Facebook and reliving all the moments that made me smile.
All of you are a part of that.
Each time you tag me and include me in your life, I get to relive it again.

Thank you.

I see myself age, looking more like my mother each day.
I enjoy my birthday and anniversaries over and over.
The quotes, comments and random thoughts sometimes make me wonder what was going on during that time of my life.

Funny how something so simple can make me smile on a daily basis.
I’ll keep documenting my life, for me.
I hope you can enjoy it along the way too.
Now go on, make some Sunday memories today.

Thanks again for starring in my life’s sitcom. Glad you could stop by.

Oct 18, 2019 time out

Do you have a “time out” place?
Not for bad behavior, but for taking a time out from life in general.

Is it a place? Person? song?
Something or somewhere that gives you a few minutes to regroup, organize your thoughts, keep you from not using your filter.

I have to modify my place as needed.
There have been times it’s a song on the radio so I sit, eyes closed and listen to each word and note, shutting out everything around me.
Don’t worry, I am parked. 🤣

If I get a little overwhelmed at work I may shut my door and put my head down on my desk, just like quiet time in the first grade.
Others depend on me, I cant just lose it.

If I get to a point of being tired, frustrated, hurt, overwhelmed and feel like I’m drowning, crying helps.
It seems to wash away what’s bothering me. Cleansing my body by releasing it all in my tears.
At this point I need to be alone.
I am at the point of letting my mouth say what I feel. Which sometimes only makes things worse.

I cant stop people from hurting me, betraying me, not doing their part or things just not going as planned.
But I can control how I respond to it.
Not react.
Never react out of emotion.
That’s when your filter is gone.
You say things out of anger or hurt.
You try to make them feel like you do at that moment.

Don’t.

Respond by not reacting.
What a person does is a reflection of them and what they are feeling.
It’s not you.
Never let someone or something determine your happiness or self worth.
Smile and walk away.
Pray for them, send good vibes their way.
Release all the hurt and anger you have in the way that works best.
Put yourself in Time Out.
Be happy.

gently used

My body snaps and cracks like a glowstick when I first get out of bed. The fact it actually refuses to glow like one is pretty disappointing.

But after moving, coffee and a hot shower I feel good as gently used.
It seems the discussion this week has been age. How old someone is, how young they act. I have always thought of age as a number.
It just keeps track of your trips around the sun.

What’s the big deal?
Its kind if like the frequent flyer club. The more trips the more prizes!
The gifts you receive are amazing!
I know. I’ve had 56 trips and mine have included…
Siblings
Friends
Education
Lovers
Plane rides
Children
Grand children
Living my dream
To name a few…
I cant wait for my discounts!!

I look for gifts every day. There is always one, no matter how small or how large, my trips include 365 presents
And I am grateful for them all.
Don’t look at getting older as a curse. It is quite the opposite.
It is a blessing.

Not all are fortunate to have the same amount of trips as you.
Enjoy the ride!
Appreciate the gift of time.

And love big while you’re at it!

Oct 15, 2019 almost awake

I’m awake.
Well mostly. I’m on my first cup of coffee.

Thankful for another day.
The days have been long and sleep seems to be a priority when I get home.
I’m exhausted physically and mentally.

I’m behind on housework, paperwork and keeping up with friends and family.
I’m grateful I have a husband that picks up what I drop. Lord knows his days are as long as mine.

But that’s what we do.
We are strong where the other is weak.
I rub his feet, he rubs my back. We comfort each other when the world seems a little crazy.
We are each others safe spot.
Arms wrapped around each other to keep away the world.

I wake each morning with him next to me on the side of the bed closest to the door. He once told me that was to protect me if anyone broke in.
Putting himself in harm’s way before me.
Chivalry is not dead.

My mind is wandering this morning. I told you it was tired. And the coffee hasn’t jump started it yet.
I was just thinking about for all I’m grateful and Troy always makes the top of the list.

Today is a new day.
New challenges and opportunities.
Guess I better get my cup refilled and get at it.

The day wont slay itself.

Listen

I wish I could sit here in the dark, happy coffee ☕ in hand, and listen to the wind blow outside all day long.
It is a reminder that Fall is here or at least on the way. It’s October and feels more like late August outside. This weather has been a little crazy, kind of like 2020, I shouldn’t be surprised.

I love listening to everything around me.
I close my eyes and hear crickets, birds, the wind, the rain, sometimes hail. I listen to the house noises, air conditioner, ceiling fans, even the pitter patter of fur baby feet.

At work when its early and I am alone, I hear the steam traveling through the pipes, the ice machine kicking on, the sound of the metal heating up.
As people come in, I can usually tell who by their footsteps, some shuffle their feet, a limp, a slight stomp. I listen for the laughs, quiet chatter, dull roar of everyone coming to life.

Warming up to their day.
The dish machine comes to life, the sound of water running, the printer beeping and the label maker spitting out stickers with vital diet info.

The kitchen in full swing is a symphony.
Singing, pans clanging like cymbals, the crescendo of laughter, the solo voices calling out, the musical buzzing of timers going off, the harmony of a team working together.

Sounds of the day.
Sounds of life.

The quiet where the only sound you hear is the beating of your own heart.
One of the senses not everyone is blessed to have.
Appreciate and be grateful, those of you that can close your eyes and hear the sound of life happening all around you.
Enjoy the harmony of nature’s playlist.
When you add your voice, be sure it is a compliment to the song. A welcomed solo. Adding joy and happiness to those who stop to listen.

Enjoy your day my friends, you may want to put some rocks in your pocket to keep you anchored today.

Do stop to listen.
You might miss your calling.

one step at a time

A big dose of happy coffee to get my day started.
Monday thinks it’s going to take command, I got news for you, not on my watch!

My day will go the way I intend.
It is my Monday.
My day.
My life.
No one can steal my joy.
Payroll, ordering, call ins, vacations, no coffee buddy,
Eh
It is all good.
One step at a time, a deep breath here and there and extra coffee.

For your protection not mine. 🤣
Have a blessed day, I will.
I always do.

Be grateful for what is, and for what is not.
Sometimes it is just not meant to be.
Take Monday by the horns and be the guiding force, not just the rider.

You got this.
We got this.

October 10, 2019 Bossa Nova

I made the statement yesterday, “I need someone to kidnap me, just for a few days”.
I was kidnapped once at 17.

One of my best friends in high school, and still today, grabbed me out of my front yard, threw me in a Bossa Nova, and headed to Texas. He called my dad to let him know, dad wanted 6 point beer in exchange for my safe return.

You read that right.
Dad said don’t bring her back without some 6 point.

If life were that easy now….
I’d have to plan ahead for my kidnapping today.
My staff would probably pay the ransom just to get me back to work. 😁

We all need an escape.
For me it’s time like this.
Coffee and solitude.
My little bit of Bossa Nova time.

If I miss a quiet morning, my escape might be when I’m first home after work. Quiet house, no television, just me, the fur baby and maybe a sip of Crown.

My days have been long lately, but I’m sure things will be back to normal shortly. When you take on responsibility, you should do your absolute best.
Give 110%
Make sure you take time for you to recharge or you wont be able to keep up the pace for long.

Plan your escape.

October 8, 2019 · Early morning

Another early morning, not because I have to, my body is just on the 4am schedule.

No complaints, that’s an extra cup of coffee.
Someone at work asked me if I wrote these morning thoughts or if I found them on the internet.
They are my thoughts. Don’t walk a mile in my shoes, take a stroll thru my thoughts..😍
He also asked how I come up with what I write.
I told him when I get up in the morning I think of all the things I am grateful to have in my life. Best to start the day on a positive note. It can really determine the kind of day you will have.

Sometimes, those thoughts trigger my morning thoughts. It could be something that happened this week, like our conversation triggered this one.
These morning thoughts are my version of journaling. Electronic journaling.

I enjoy seeing the positivity on Facebook. I scroll past the negative.
Putting out your negative thoughts just attract more negativity.

Get up, look in the mirror, remind yourself how beautiful you are with a soul to match.
I am one of a kind.
I can do anything.
I am important.
I am successful.
I have to offer what the world needs.
The world is a better place because I am in it.
Tell yourself
“I love you”.
If you can love yourself you can love others with a passion that can move mountains.
Start your day on a positive note.
Find the good in everything that happens that would normally upset you.

Just have that extra cup of coffee.

Today

Today is your day.
Your day to succeed.
Your day to shine.
Your day to pull a rabbit out of your hat.
Today you will fall in love…
With you.
You will appreciate who you are and the path you follow.
You will set your boundaries and not let others cross them.
You will keep your circle tight, encourage and love those in it.
Today you will be happy.
You will smile at everyone.
You will compliment strangers.
You will let the sun warm your face.
You will change the world.
You will carry with you, confidence, respect, encouragement, faith and love.
You will receive blessings beyond your wildest dreams.
You will make a difference.
Today is your day.
Tomorrow?
Well, your tomorrow’s always become your today’s.
Repeat.

Pity puddle

I need my me time.

I’ve had some this week, but no time to write. I wrote several in my head, while driving, cooking, catering. Just no time to put it down on paper, so to speak.

Believe it or not, some mornings I can’t think of a single thing to write about. I never want to be negative, and if I don’t have anything nice to say I try to stay quiet.
There are so many negative things out there. Maybe I should point out the “bright side” of things.

The silver linings.

I scroll past negative posts, not stopping to comment.
I honestly believe there are people who enjoy being unhappy and love a drama filled life.
They thrive on people jumping on board to hate on whatever is happening.
Drawing more negativity their way.

I do love when I see a “keep your chin up, it could be worse” response. Those will make me stop and read a few more.
Those are the friends you should surround yourself with. The ones that point out the good in a situation. The ones that will not sit in your pity puddle with you, but point out a step in either direction is drier and happier.

If you don’t like where you are, MOVE.
You are not a tree.

Pulling people into your puddle will only push them away. Non stop moaning and complaining is not an attractive quality.
Think about it, are you one of those people? Notice your circle getting smaller? Fewer responses to your drama?
Self inflicted Darkness can be exhausting to those around you. The pity you seek just feeds it. Attention, good or bad is what you desire. Start by giving yourself some good attention.

Put out there all your accomplishments, happy moments. Celebrations with friends have more power to fuel your happiness than pity.
You will find strangers watching you and feeding off the energy you produce.

Be the light people seek.

Blaze a way through the darkness where others can follow.
You have it in you. Don’t let anything push your light down deep. Draw it out and share it. I’ll read every word of it, and soak up some of that positive energy myself.

Have a fantabulous day!
I hope to read and hear about all your happiness today!
I love you!
Love big
