BEHAVIOR

May 2020
Or level 5 of Jumanji
I wish coffee was the ultimate Powerball for the win.

This is not about what I think about covid -19. Corona virus, wuhan virus, the rona or this crap here. Whatever you are calling it.

It’s about our behavior.

We have had divisions in this country long before we were united.
Red, white.
North, South.
Black, white.
Left, right.
You get it. There are so many more.

The past few months there has been a division in this country where there should have been a united front.
Mask or no mask
Inside, outside

My rights, your rights….
Oh wait, that’s the same.
We share the same constitutional liberties.
My rights shouldn’t infringe on yours and the other way around.

Your opinion. My opinion
Neither is right or wrong.
It’s what we believe.
And we have the right to believe what we want.

I respect your opinion whether it’s the same as mine or not.
That’s the beauty of freedom.
I don’t have to!
I can disagree without punishment, fear of rejection, slander, or physical abuse.
Well. At least that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Opinions have been the biggest dividing factor in 2020 thus far.

We can’t seem to agree to disagree.
I’ve seen friendships end, family members fight, businesses close forever, jobs lost.
People demanding you think like them or you are a moron.

2020 has become a live video game where there is no clear cut winner except for those controlling the game.
And we only have one life.
But we can power up.

Stop fighting with those that disagree.
Remember, you are on the other side to them also and you are still a good person.
There is no right or wrong here.
The rules of this game are made up as we go along.
And real life doesn’t ever follow a playbook.

It would be so much easier to get through this with respect for each other.
A kind word, a nod of agreement or a shrug of disagreement and understanding.

We are a nation of many aspects.
No one is the same.
United we must be.
Respect choices.
Celebrate victories together.

We are our own worst enemy.

And remember…
United we stand
Divided we fall
