Be Kind

Drinking my coffee this morning and scrolling social media.
No profound thoughts are running through my half awake brain. I usually have something to say. My writing is usually triggered by something I’ve read or an event.

I try to keep politics off of my page. Too many people feel the need to argue instead of discuss, call names and basically do what they accuse others of doing.
No one can just agree to disagree.

Everyone is right because they read it on the internet, saw it on the news or “that’s what I was told”.
And some are downright right hateful about it, screaming without listening.
It’s like being in a room of spoiled toddlers fighting over one of a dozen toys.

In a country where freedoms are abundant, to include freedom of speech, it amazing me how they are abused.
What happened to discussions?
Comparing facts not opinions.
Respecting each others right to believe what they believe.
Without being accused of being an idiot or moron because they think differently.

I was in debate during high school. A sophisticated form of arguing. Opinions didn’t matter, cold hard facts did and sometimes you won because your research was better than the other guys.
Didn’t mean it was right.
But you shook hands and agreed to disagree. Then the loser of the match started digging for better facts.

In a country with so many rights and freedoms, a place you can be anything you want to be…
BE KIND
You can be right or wrong, just be kind about it.
A whisper attracts more attention than a scream.
Your calm attitude portrays way more confidence in your belief. When you yell it, who are you trying to convince?
Me or you?

Well, for someone who had nothing to say this morning, I’ve said a lot and it’s time to start my day.

Love Big and Be Kind.
